Yarra and Boroondara need a new river crossing!
The Critical Mass Melbourne monthly ride will visit Boroondara for the first time on Friday 28 March.
Meet: 5.30pm, Friday 28 March 2025, State Library, Swanston Street, CBD
- Ride east to bike infrastructure locations in Yarra, including some bike lanes Yarra Council is considering removing
- Cross into Boroondara to finish the ride at Yarra Bank Reserve, a possible location for bridge connecting Richmond to the Hawthorn to Box Hill Trail.
Critical Mass organises rides that aim to raise awareness about cycling as a viable form of transportation and to advocate for better infrastructure and safety measures for cyclists and other mobility users.
Infrastructure Victoria’s 30 year plan supports a cycling link from the city through to the Hawthorn – Box Hill trail. This link would need a new pedestrian and cycling bridge between Richmond and Hawthorn.
Boroondara Council and Yarra Council both have strategies for a new shared path bridge to connect their communities. Let’s make it happen!
