Have your say to help improve and finalise the design of the final stage of the North East Link.
The designs include:
- New shared path for the Main Yarra Trail along the north side of the Freeway under Bourke Road and the Chandler Highway to Merri Creek
- The long overdue grade separation under the Belford Road bridge – eliminating the steep climb.
You can submit your feedback via the Victorian Government consultation page – the consultation closes Sunday 16 November
Please also send a copy of your submission to the City of Boroondara at boroondara@boroondara.vic.gov.au

Some positives:
- Upgrades to the Main Yarra Trail included the bridge over the Yarra, path alignment, grade separation at Belford Road, Chandler Highway and Burke Road are all good.
Some negatives:
- The western end of the upgraded Main Yarra Trail finishes at the narrow pedestrian bridge over the Merri Creek to Roseneath St. NE Link project says it’s outside of scope. Better connections to cycle routes in the City of Yarra are needed.
- The dangerous Anniversary Trail crossing of the Eastern Freeway is not being improved. The trail crosses the Chandler Highway then follows a bike lane on the busy Chandler Highway bridge. A separate bridge for the shared path is needed.
